My brother in law, after the military equivalent of room and board were taken out, earned in the vicinity of $750-$800 he said. If your married or have dependants (common-law, children, etc) let them know as you don't have that taken out of your pay and I'm pretty sure you also get a small...

I didnt tell them about my Hemochromatosis H63D inactive (genetic condition 20% or so of the population has) nor my old posture problem that caused my arms to hurt bad. I mentioned it to them (not in detail) but they didnt give the forms to follow up on it so I guess it's not my problem now.

Yeah I went through some yard sales and picked up some space heaters. Got about 30 plugged in all over the house with the windows open.

Government Subsidized Living Quarters and Pre-Scheduled Meal Preparation . Sounds all gov't like now    >:D

"One recruit has been there for three years due to injuries that keep occurring... " Holy shit, I thought after 2-3 injuries they get released....does that recruit have a golden horseshoe or a 1200 leaf clover?

What? You don't like the wedge the AF wears? Every time I see it it makes me want to order a Whopper combo. So berets are allowed with the dress uniform for the AF?

Thanks for the reply Vern, much appreciated. The thread name takes me back to my QL3 Infantry course in the reserves...had a lot of people from around NS / NB / NFLD / PEI doing training on base, and a guy refused to shower. We were in Tent City outside so the smell was kind of hidden for a...

Sort of a off-topic, but what happens if you loose a lot of weight or gain a lot of weight ? Can you get your undergarments (and all the others) replaced so they properly fit prior to the 2years? Ive been shedding weight a bit, only expect that once Im in Basic I'll loose a few more sizes...

If you can provide info about being married and your paying for living you dont pay anything extra like R&B or anything else I do believe, and the difference in your check is pretty large, between 250-400 a check I think and Im not sure or not but it may also reflect on your dependants if you...

This threads great...but one thing thats missing is the occasional midnight visits by horned up CF members with no morals to skankface wives who are home alone because their hubby is overseas or in the field. That brings up even more entertainment.

yeah, the told me my old med docs still havent arrived, but I really don't know if I believe the frontline man I talked to. All I know is that Im awaiting my offer :)

My brother in law just completed his a few months ago, said that a large amount of the people were late teens and early 20s, with a light sprinkle of early 30s and one over 40. Said that almost all the BMQ's at the time were around the same.

Im actually looking forward to it, getting into shape and all, and having already done basic at least Im not going in without a clue...I know exactly (more or less) what Im getting myself into.

I prefer no insoles in my shoes, I cant stand soft ones for some reason. Drives me totally insane. I had these braces made for me for computer use a long time ago, when the plastic was heated in water it bacame very pliable. I ended up molding and cutting them to fit my feet and wow are they...

I always knew that the hour after eating / swim thing was crap. But if you reallllyyy want to lose weight, just before you get into the water go buy some pirahnas, dump em in then cut yourself a bit. I bet you've never quite had a workout like that ;)

I was hoping for the bypass but didnt get it. Oh well ;)

Hey all, Got a few questions for people re-enlisting after being out for a while. How long did the process take for you? Mine's taken nearly a year and I just completed the medical / re-interview (trade change from 1st interview). I've passed everything so far, all papers are done but when I...

I'll just hide a cat in my gear. Seems when I try to grow facial hair it comes in pretty patchy looking and I'm nearing 30, so I attribute that to my cat waking me up with their rough ass tongue. Or it could be because of my Native American heritage. I blame the cat though.

The initial technology of anything is always extremely more expensive. From civilian to military, it doesn't matter, because private industry is usually behind the creation of said tech. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc generation always gets cheaper. Look at modern technology, cdroms, computers, etc. If...
