Watch them go HMCS ARKELL or GRIMSBY just to spite you 😉

I would throw HMCS MANITOULIN into that mix as well

TKMS Type 212CD (Victoria class replacement megathread)

Would it not mean if the hull number gets reduced, then so too do the ITB’s, offset etc commensurately?

TKMS Type 212CD (Victoria class replacement megathread)

I could get on board with that, absolutely. I still think I’m partial to an actual water dweller but I can see the argument for either.

TKMS Type 212CD (Victoria class replacement megathread)

How about a pivot towards the fun stuff here. I think it’s been a while since we got into the naming of the class. I’m kind of hoping for “PREDATORY FISH” class, if that doesn’t cause too much clutching of pearls. First boat: HMCS MUSKELLUNGE

Every time I see this, it blows my mind. Rough math would show that ship to have maintained an average transit speed of over 27kts, though a storm that damaged Irish naval vessels. If one ever wanted to point out the quality of a HALIFAX class frigate, I think this is hell of a statement to make.

Yeah, that’s much better than Gercanway…😂

    Continental Defence Corvette

I’m wondering if they’re still going to go for 20 of them at that level. I was thinking if it was something like an upgraded RN RIVER, that would be more likely. Now 🤷‍♂️

I haven’t seen any discussion on this yet. But these pics are from Seaspan’s pavilion (I didn’t take these, I believe they’re Noah’s). It’s purportedly the Seaspan pitch for the CDC program. I didn’t see much in the way of details included in the fb posting.

Canada to Spend $5.0Bil on AEW Aircraft (Saab Globaleye)

Oh brother, I feel your pain. I drive for OC and you just described every day of my working life. I mean, it’s fantastic that they want to make cycling safer and more appealing, I’m all for that. As near as i can tell they are attempting to make driving downtown so irritating that people will...

    Continental Defence Corvette

This is a brilliant post. I think we all get so excited thinking about the future fleet, that we lose track of the current worthiness and value of the existing system, along with its deficiencies. If war is coming before we have a significant amount of new vessels crewed and in the water, then...

    Continental Defence Corvette

If you were going the adapt to purpose route with a baseline ice hardened/strengthened hull and you wanted space for elevators/storage/whatever, you could get all that essentially in an UMIAK type arctic freighter. The weakness here is in redundancy, with one propulsion plant, shaft and prop...

AOR Replacement & the Joint Support Ship (Merged Threads)

That’s such an unfortunate oversight in the execution of the vessel. As far as I know, and I certainly stand to be corrected, the propulsion, hotel systems and accommodations as well as the ability to transfer and store provisions (without a native help, notwithstanding) are all successfully...
