Based on a lot of the various CMBGs input from the old FORCE 2025 I dont think that was the case. Any wins from this for the Reserves are likely a consolation prize in leu of any the equipment/capabilities to be felt by the rest of the force. Even the reserve training support staff being added...
Speaks volumes of some of the thinking going on. Its just another way to draw a circle around the Regular Force units and refusing integration with the Reserve Force. The idea that some have that the CA is gonna be 2 Reg Force mech divisions and the Reserves will just be hanging out in the...
I think a line has to be drawn in the sand with some facilities that while adding to the historic vibes of many cities/towns that bulldozed their main streets in their 50s shouldnt be taking up most of the budget for the year/years. We need facilities that support national defense just as much...
Sorry best we can do is spend 0.5 billion dollars setting up a quary for Halifax stone and another 0.4 billion to rebuild an armory for a regiment that refused to deploy in both world wars.
Werent they taken from the numbered Reserve brigades during WW2? It was a very on the nose point made by the Reg Force and where they saw the PRes as belonging.
The nice thing about bringing back the Rifles and PLDG is that their battle honours cant be stolen like is planned by regiments that opted to not sign up for either world war.
Isnt the LIR only going to be deploying company elements as they LIB are currently? If so 6 rifle companies in 2 battalions with ats and dets should be enough.
I think the only solution to all this is to just copy the Japanese in WW2 where every service got planes, boats, infantry, and of course aircraft carriers.
I myself am excited to work alongside 1st Maritime Armored Division Angus Töpshee!
I dont know if limiting the hiring to Air Force pers and MPs is gonna imbue this new trade with the tactical drive it needs, even with the USAF training.
"Up to 20 fighters built for Ukraine" some of which could be built in Canada
Do they even hear themselves. But then again this is the same group that was claiming the Griphen E was gonna be some sorta partial stealth fighter back in 2015. I am sure Ukraine is loving this though
Cynically it paints the party as having built something in the province despite historically being the party of not having any money for actually doing so. Even worse that in this case Horgan froze the project while initiating reviews that led to billions in cost overruns during a time that it...
No but it may be rolled in with your trade training depending on the job. But you need to speak to your recruiter about this as they will be more aware of what is available as well as what local training will look like.
