    ISO Short-sleeve Tan Garrison Shirt

Howdy all. Almost have an old Garrison uniform put together... no problem wearing it at historical or unit birthday events. Wife threw out the shirts a long time ago (can't blame her for that) but now I am looking for the above aforementioned shirt. I need a neck size of 16 1/2 - 18. Good...

    Length of veh tech training

Tried to search this topic, maybe using wrong keyword but no luck...     Anyone have any opinion as to the suspension of Recovery training for Res F REME's?  I recently retired (as an MSE Op) and took a Class B job, almost no veh techs have recovery training.  This Res Svc Bn is by a...

    Yes...Airbrake Boards

Thanks for the ideas and directions.  In Edmonton parts that are unsuitable for functional use but could be used on an airbrake board must be thrown out and cannot be retrieved from a garbage bin.  I guess this makes sense... in theory what if I were to use a brake chamber or any valve that...

    Service Battalion Shooter(Drink)

When I got in and was handed my first MSE Op trade badge, I was given a "Transfer Case".  Wow.  An ounce of Grand Marnier, Amaratto, and Tia Maria.  When they mix it really does look like black sludge.  Not disco flashy ;-)     But like most traditions, it's largely gone by the wayside.

    Yes...Airbrake Boards

Howdy all.  I've been trying to upgrade an airbrake board at a Reserve Unit, and having a heck of a time.  I used to have an SOA with the parts and prices listed, but it's expired.  Customer Services at Base are unable to find a current SOA or even to provide any procedures for ordering...

Home Equity Assistance & "Military Families Pushed to Financial Ruin" (Merge)

After 29 years in uniform I was forced to retire from the Reg F before I was ready.  I will lose $30,000-$40,000 on the sale of my condo, and I was given the choice by my career manager: get posted out or get out.  Brookfield told me tough titties: I chose this job and all its downfalls. ...

Home Equity Assistance & "Military Families Pushed to Financial Ruin" (Merge)

In Edmonton, had to buy a townhouse for $250k (leaving out details as to why, not important). Supposed to get posted, can sell for $220K.  Two years left in CE contract. CoC and CM saying get posted or get out, tough luck about the contract.  Not much choice there.  That's the military and...

    EATD July 4

Just remember, as a C.E.D. Instructor-Trainer, I found out the hard way... do NOT have pasta for dinner before driving.  It'll get NASTY  ;D

Moose Milk and Other Regimental Drinks

No truckers seem to remember the ubitiquious "Transfer Case":     - 1 oz Grand Marnier     - 1 oz Tia Maria     - 1oz  Amaretto     Pour into a suitable large shot glass.  This mess mixes into a dark mucky sludge that resembles something from your Ford truck's... Used to be a welcome...

Army.ca pub night/meet and greet anyone? Edmonton Area

May I suggest the Docks, east side of Londonderry Mall?  Not far from the base, the new owners really cater to the military and regularly offers drink tickets to us.  Nice wimmen there, pool tables, great music if there's a live band, bouncers are usually military.  Sometimes the young...

Regulations for Civy's driving DND vehicles

We're trying to run a raffle at our base to raise money for our running club.  This will include (so far) an AVLB driving over a POL-clean car wreck donated by the local auto wreckers.  Tickets available to ANYBODY 18 and over (tentatively).  The response has been phenomenal.  As for who...

Wet Weather Combat Boots: Use, Maintenance & Other Stuff.

I've had all my boots resoled, although on my own dime.  I called the same place in Edmonchuk that does boots for Clothing.  Orthotech in St. Albert will do them for $80.00, and takes about a week.  They've done a fantastic job (nope, not getting any commission or kickbacks here), and the...

Wet Weather Combat Boots: Use, Maintenance & Other Stuff.

For cleaning the inside, I've used one of those SHOUT sheets that are semi-wet, just give the inside a bit of a scrub and it's clean(er).  On the outside, I give my boots a shot of black paste every couple of months or so, but leave them overnight for the paste to dry a bit.  It also makes the...

    Every Marine Into The Fight

I think because of the problem of what unit "deployable" soldiers are in.  As an officer told me, "If'n y'all'r in a static or HQ unit, you ain't goin' nowhare, boy".  I'm single, too old to have kids, and would kiss someone's ass to go over.  Not a chance.     Cheers.

Application - How long does it take? (Merged)

How about 14 years and at least 6 complete sets of files?  Didn't anyone tell dumbass clerks (as opposed to intelligent ones, which is the vast majority) that when the Recruiting Centre needs something or calls, to TELL the transferring member in question?  No one said for a reservist NEVER...

    Dirka..

Just bought three, for two mil buddies of mine.  We'll get a kick out of it, they're real collector's items.  Three though, cost over $30 bucks US, so remember the exchange and shipping will really add up.     Permanently single so I don't care, it's only money.  :)
