I never said it was on them to tell me I can get one. Just would have avoided a headache to have a line in the 62 page guide that says I can keep one if I already have it, since the recruiters on the phone didn't know. No biggie. I already had the student loan, and It's in the past now, so I'm...
No. I just put on my CC this time.
I wasn't really stressing because I knew it'd come back in 3 weeks so it's whatever.
But,
Last semester it was too late because enrolment was Aug 23, tuition due by Aug 28, and they require 3 weeks notice for processing advance on the claim. It really screwed...
It could be extremely useful to a student at CivU ROTP because you are expected to pay the tuition out of pocket, then you are reimbursed afterwards.
That's ~$3k the student needs to have sitting around at the start of fall semester, could definitely see getting a student loan to cover that...
Read through previous posts to get an idea on the timelines. There are hundreds of posts on here you can read through to form a rough idea of how long things will take.
This stage could take anywhere from days to several weeks.
My portal only showed selected for one day.
I also know people who...
Calling them every day is excessive.
There is nothing your recruiting center can do to speed up the process.
My medical took like 7 months in total, it's normal.
Just focus on something else for a few months and wait for them to get back to you.
I know it's stressful but you'll have to deal...
I wouldn't write off ROTP as an option if you're interested tbh.
I was told when I applied I wouldn't get in, and I got an offer ~12 months later for the trade I wanted. I also applied when I was in my first year, and got accepted for my second.
It's certainly competitive but it's worth a shot...
Yes I do, I'll DM it to you if you'd like.
About a month ago there were 6 deo slots for into left for this fiscal year from what I heard. I know one person that was given one of those 6. Not sure about the rest. Pretty sure 0 for ROTP though.
However keep in mind with this kind of stuff, you...
Your leadership experience doesn't have to be military related. Have you ever been the captain of a sports team? Instructor of a children's camp? Even having to train people in a workplace?
Honestly, having real work experience would probably go further for you than cadets.
I'm going to live off that vending machine coffee for a while.
Just hoping it doesn't make me miss too much class from going to the bathroom all the time. Lmfao.
The only real answer to this is...
No one knows. It's different for everyone.
Mine took 8 months, my good friends took 2 weeks.
Check in every 2 weeks or so.
At a certain point, they will ask you to fill out an application to rmc, regardless if you want civU or rmc. On this form you'll indicate a preference for civilian University or attending RMC.
Also if you really want civilian University, just make sure in your interview you also indicate this...
I just realized I never clarified what ended up happening with all this.
I received a call July saying I was added to comp list and recived an offer the following day. Then I had my enrolment in August.
To anyone facing similar roadblocks, my word of advice would be to just stick to the path...
I don't see switching degrees making you ineligible as long as the degree you're switching into aligns with the trade you want.
I got in starting my second year university, so it's definitely not too late. However, if you wait until after your second year it is most likely you'll have to end up...
If the caf got a penny for everytime this question was asked we would be the highest GDP spender in NATO.
Aside from that...
Best of luck in your application, you sound like you have the proper experience and the caf will be lucky to have you. But unfortunately, no one on here will be able to...
I highly doubt they put public numbers specific to rotp applications out. If somebody knows otherwise, please correct me.
There are some stats on this page regarding how many offers go out per year, however.

Curious as to why...
1) Depends on the trade. For example I'm familiar with Pilot and Int. Pilot is 17 years , Int is 13. Keep in mind the first 4 years of this contract is your university time.
2) intelligence extremely competitive, other two are somewhat less so. Keep in mind this will always be fluctuating based...
Yep, that's pretty typical.
Just follow up with your recruiting center every few weeks. I got my offer in June, so that makes 4 months between medical approval and offer.
It will be longer if you are waiting for pre sec still. I am a Canadian Citizen so it was quick for me.
2 weeks is...
Wow ! What an interesting journey.
Much respect to you for trying again, I'm sure many people stumbling on this in the future in a similar situation will find some solace in your story.
It is crazy how it feels so long waiting between phases, then you look back at it like "wow, that was fast"...
