    Pipelines

Isn't that the crux of the problem: we just don't know and there is the appearance of wrong-doing. The liberals have suffered from appearances for a decade now so a little reassurance that there has indeed been a fundamental change is overdo

    Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

Doesn't say much for the quality of our legal profession does it? Wab seems to care more for the welfare of his province than he does for the dogma of his party. A rare quality for a politician. Manitoba appears to have lucked in.

honestly, she is the perfect picture of an unhappy person. I actually feel sorry for her.

    Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

The question still remains as to how sincere he is on all of that. He has Guilbeault to block off development on Hudson Bay by declaring new parks, he has done nothing to relax the carbon tax constraints on oil development and he has stated that he won't do anything without consensus regarding...

AOR Replacement & the Joint Support Ship (Merged Threads)

We shouldn't be even thinking about developing the resources needed to invade our own country. I doubt very much if China, Russia, or anyone else is going to touch town 1000 miles from Yellowknife and start an invasion. Logistically, they would run out of gas long before they came into contact...

AOR Replacement & the Joint Support Ship (Merged Threads)

I think that this is indeed possible. JSS aren't lethal so we can maintain the fiction that we are a peacekeeping nation. They are also very useful as public relations tools to respond to disaster areas with a full set of tools. Politically a very good idea.

Not really. in the time your LST completes one trip in one direction your C17 or C130 will have made at least dozen.

I truly hope you are right. We will know when the shovels hit the ground and if they do I will be happy to admit that I misjudged him. But it will be the first time in recorded history when a leopard has changed it spots

We cannot afford to wait. Carney is on record many times for being against oil production. Hell, he even started an entire business enterprise based upon refusing financing to projects that weren't green. I doubt that has changed but in order to hoodwink the voter he is paying lip service to...

and housing for the crews. Last I heard there was a housing shortage in most major communities. Good place to start with pre-fabs as if I recall building permits are more readily available on base and one doesn't have to contend with nimby

The coast guard is NOT going to be happy about this. Will this mean that Irving will have to revert to the forces design to incorporate the deck guns once again?

yes but not really. If we had placed a significant order from London they wouldn't be laying people off they would be in full production

    The Arctic

Hudson Bay freezes every fall/winter. But it thaws in the spring which makes the ice single season thickness. If Russia can make a viable route across the top of Asia and keep it open for much of the winter season we should be able to build and field a fleet of ice breakers capable of creating...

    The War in Ukraine

As I write there is an autocarrier burning off the west coast that is carrying several hundred electric vehicles. Given the propensity of Lithium batteries to burn uncontrollably what is the failsafe that is protecting Genesis when the inevitable shell hits that long and inviting fore-deck?

There is always cash, whoops, sorry, not much inventory there either. GDLS is laying people off in London, maybe a contract to build vehicles for Ukraine would be in order.
