Rifle for Canadian Forces Mapping Division?

Didn't we have a short nasty-looking Ruger 77 catalogued? I saw one on a "Small Arms of the CF" poster somewhere...?

    Vehicle Technician ( merged )

Definately lower control arm. Used on coil sprung vehicles, in conjunction with upper control arms and track/stabilizer bars. They are for the proper positioning of the axle, as the suspension is cycled up and down. Don't drive it until you get a new one, as your axle is now skewed in relation...

    Ch-47 Chinook - Shipboard Capabilities

I've seen the Chinook landed on the flight deck of Provider, athwartships of course....Protecteur and Preserver are supposed to have similar-sized decks. Just a point of note for the original post.

anyone have a "wandering zero" prob with a No 5?

Sounds to me like pressure point problem. Still have the wood stock? Check to see if there is one high point in the forestock. As humidity changes from day to day, the wood will swell and push on the barrel at this point, shifting point of impact. Other than that, I'm stumped.

    Fire on HMCS Toronto

Too right....practice makes perfect. I've alway's said that Floods might happen, Fires will. Just a matter of time. For the non-Navy fellow who commented on the HFXClass being near end of service life, I believe you'll find that fires happen more consistently on newer vessels than old. Still...

    Sexual Predator in Mom's Daycare

2- Lack of ethical and moral jurisdiction. Governments do not have the right to decide who lives and who dies. Apparently they do...how many wars is it gonna' take for you to figure that out? Why do law enforcement personell carry firearms? You cannot make a statement like that and end it in a...

    Old Bullet

Indeed, Imperial marketed this bullet style in several calibers/cartridges for sporting use called a "Sabertip". Interestingly, it never was too popular. Now, Nosler makes something nearly identical called a "Ballistic Tip" that everybody loves....

Lee Enfield # 4 (re-barelled to .308) - If you own one, this is a must read

The part in the post above about commercial brass being thinner than Milspec is true, but could be somewhat misleading to a neophyte. SAAMI standards are developed with commercial brass, and pressure limits are derived with commercial brass. Therefore, any handload conforming to (or below) ...

Primary Leadership Qualification Course (PLQ) Mega thread

I've got to agree with Greasyoldman on this one too. The PLQ is designed to teach the basic requirements for the up-and-coming Junior Leader. It's a Cpl's course, preparing them for the next rank. Back-logs will see MCpl's on this course for a while yet. The JLC wasn't working too well. As a...

The Need for Progression in Rank...

Anybody remember TASK (Trade Advancement for Skill and Knowledge) that was being looked at a while back? Man, that would have done a lot of trades pretty good. As it is now, a good solid worker is rated pretty high come PER time. That gets him promoted in due course, but the down side is that...

    The current navy uniform

NDHQ Navy guys wear a mariad of unifirms to work. Never NCD's though. Most days, it'll be Dress Trousers (Blue or Black as most call call them) with the Short Sleeve White shirt and Beret. Sweater over that, if needed. Or, they might wear the same, only with a Long Sleeve White Shirt with tie...

    Nomenclature of the Divisional System

Break down for the MSE Division on a ship; CPF's have Lt(N) for Engineering Officer, 280's and Tankers have a LCdr. CERA's are CPO2's on CPF's and CPO1's on Tankers and 280's. Interestingly, most billets are for one rank higher on 280's and Tankers. The Snr HT and Snr ET on 280's and Tankers are...
