I sent an e-mail on the 22nd of December and 15th of January. I got a response yesterday regarding both the e-mails stating they have fwd the e-mail to the department handling my claim. My turn around time for an e-mail from December has now been fwd to the appropriate department. Cough...

    Aerospace Control Officers-AEC [merged]

    1) AEC officers that I work with either work in the terminal or in the tower. This is all explained on the forces website. Most of the officers I work with have been controllers for life. No spec pay. A couple have moved onto major and outcan positions in weapons. 2)...

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

Overheard at work today that a tech got a 3 year posting with family to dismantle the cf-18's (I believe 8) and ship them back to Canada. I'm thinking the F35's aren't going to happen any time in my time in for the forces. Which is another 20 years lol.

    VAC wait times

I'm pretty sure for one that certain cases are more stream lined. Example; A scenario where the health condition is cut and dry. Broken arm, arm mended. Or scar tissue disturbing movement of knee, remove tissue. Done. Then there's conditions that could get worst and or get a larger payout. I...

    VAC wait times

I ripped my achilles in July, submitted all the paper work in Sept and i'm still in stage 1 as of today. I filled out my paperwork on the 20th of December for a partially torn ACL from my left knee from 2015 and I'm on stage three as of today. A person I work with had to have his knee...

Advice about my first posting. [Merged]

It's a good idea not to be confrontational during training. Regardless of some of my classmates having higher marks, they didn't get their ideal posting. Saying that, I didn't get my first posting due to a family medical hardship from someone else on my course. Just do your best, work hard...

    BMQ Regular Force 2005 - 2017 [Merged]

If he has trouble with one task and is good at another, make sure he talks with people that may be good at the tasks he is not and trade. Example; I was great at shining boots while I sucked at ironing, to this day I have ironed maybe 3-4 times but shined dozens of  boots. I didn't have a...

Cut in weight, or should I be okay?

I wasn't going to post, but I have to. I've seen 280 lbs 6ft pass basic, as well as 5"8 200lbs pass basic. Your post actually made me laugh and once you get to basic you will laugh too. Out of 55 people on my course, 32 of them didn't pass the push up requirement and would of failed and been...

    Brookfield/ELQ/PMQ Problem

I've been posted Moose Jaw and there are no PMQ's available, which is fine because the ELQ's are quite nice. I was told there could be up to a 1-2 year wait to get a PMQ which is also fine, as the ELQ's are quite nice. My storage is in Vancouver and I've been told by Brookfield that they will...

Allowances - Post Living Differential (PLD) [MERGED]

    All about LTA (merged)

I thought it was minus 400km each direction? Just got back and claim done from YMJ to YVR, I was entitled up to $528, but the plane tickets only cost $430, paid in full no questions. Don't forget to get your leave pass stamped by a library or RCMP or Doctor in the place you visited. Didn't...

    All about LTA (merged)

I'm doing an LTA in March, I'm hesitant to purchase my ticket because if there is a possibility of getting paid out for traveling via automobile, that's what I would rather do because I have stuff to bring back. Regina to Vancouver How do I calculate the benefit and is it a different amount...

Allowances - Post Living Differential (PLD) [MERGED]

If your city is not on the list, no dice. I have a question as well, I understand that if you are co-habitating with another force member you are entitled to 75% of PLD. Do they take taxes based off or your income or is it like your posting allowance where they take like 48%?

Required to Check E-mail prior to Shift Pubs?

Example; The person in question did not show up to a shift and was notified through e-mail 2 days prior on the DWAN. The person was told they were required to check their e-mail and the person used the "It's not in the section orders"

Hello, Looking for something in the QR & 0's or the Pubs to find anything relating to being required to check e-mail (Dwan)prior or after to a shift. I've looked up preparation for and completion of duty, but nothing specifically stating e-mail or correspondence.

    Bankruptcy DAOD 5019-8 [Merged]

If you go bankrupt do they drain all your RRSP's in order to help pay for your debts? The old link in this thread for DAOD does not work, any idea what the new one is? Old topic, but relates to the question.
