    Honours & Awards (merged)

Is there a reason NATO is not supplying the medals for these ops? I'm guessing the SSM is an interim measure and will be switched out with something else in the future. I remember hearing about ships receiving the article 5. I'll read up on it, but the NATO website doesn't mention much about...

    Honours & Awards (merged)

Here is a question; One of my friends has deployed to Latvia, he already has the SSM with the Alert Bar. So if he completes 180 days in Latvia he would be awarded the NATO bar, but he asked me what happens if he goes back? or what if he did another tour in Alert? I looked it up and it's seems...

    Construction Technician (merged)

I am a current Construction Technician, if anyone has any questions feel free to send me a personal message. I'm sure I can clear up a lot of the misconceptions about the construction trades in the forces. I know this is a dormant thread, I'm posting here for people in the future that may find...

    Combat Engineer Question

From my experience most guys that went to the C-IED squadron with hopes of getting their EOD courses already had their QL5 (DP2) with a few exceptions of course due to manning or luck. They stayed in the troop as EROC drivers (for buffalos and huskies) and maybe did some high risk search stuff...

I guess they are going the "exceptional circumstances" kind of route. That's fine too, I guess there are more glorious jobs then renovating a kitchen

I was referring to the Polar Medal, it makes a comment about time served protecting Canada's northern sovereignty. Or maybe a snowflake badge for the DEU's. . . .

This sounds like a great way to recognize some of the CE guys who spend extended periods maintaining places like Inuvik and other early warning sites. We have a few RM's that spend 1-3 months a year up there and it adds up quickly. After a posting they could easily have 365+ days above 60, yet...

    AESOp ( MOC 081)

Currently in my trade there is a bottleneck of PLQ qualified cpl's, which is making promotion quite competitive. Is there anything like this for AESOP?

    AESOp ( MOC 081)

Thanks a lot, I find it hard to gather the "true" information from something like the forces website. Being in an aircrew trade which is focused on doing its job is enticing. How big would you say the trade is? I also heard a rumor that the "working trade" is a MCpl.

    Improved Combat Uniform

I personally like the massive flag, it shouts O'Canada from miles around. I also have not worn it and my opinion is not worth anything until I'm forced to wear it and come up with an informed opinion. But on another note, when exchanging flags with the americans I've always felt like I'm ripping...

    AESOp ( MOC 081)

I've been reading through this topic trying to gain a better understanding about what an aesop actually does day-to-day. Currently I'm a struc tech, but I've always wanted to work on an aircraft. I've read through the aircrew trades and on the forces.ca site and it sounds great. . . .but I know...

Any AESOP's care to chat with me about the trade?

Velcro on the new ranks. . . .must be because officers hate taking forever on parade trying to fumble with the button when giving out promotions.

    RM tech

Are you still interested in this? I'm sitting next to an RM tech right now. I'm a member of the CE trades and could help you. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997R using Tapatalk 2
