Obviously it's not going to change, never said it would. Just pointed out the fact that America is the name of the continent and that anyone in North or South America could be rightly called an American. BTW, you all down there in the United States have US citizenship, not American...

Great, you can Google (or whatever), I was going by memory of what I learned in school, which was a long time ago. Still, as I posted, America is the name that was given to the so-called New World. Everyone in North and South America could be called "Americans", in theory. The Yanks use the...

Just for fun, the Canadian gov't should counter that (renaming the Great Lake) by asking if any US border states wish to join Canada and become a province within Confederation. BTW, the US is a little over obsessed with the word "America", thinking it is the name of their country. Their county...

There are a lot of birds that rely on eating insects like mosquitos. Wipe out mosquitos and you will likely wipe out a large number of small birds as well.

Hmmm....the Conservatives were in power during the Afghanistan War and denied the VC nomination, and now they're calling for a review board.

Come on....that's asking a bit too much. :p:giggle:

Right now listening to "Johnny Winter with Dr. John: Live in Sweden 1987".

If the conservatives were smart, they would dump PP and have a leadership convention to pick a new leader. They'll never win with PP at the helm. They should've dumped him when he lost his seat in the last election and picked a new leader (instead of having a newly elected member resign is...

That would be the likely outcome (not that I see Alberta separation happening).

Very true.

Alberta (and Sask.) didn't join Confederation as former self governing colonies. That area was part of the area that was transferred from the Hudson Bay Co. to Canada in 1870, so can't really "separate". They would have to vote to leave Confederation for the vote to be legitimate. That might...

I really don't think that Alberta (or Sask.) have the ability to "separate" from Canada, in that they weren't separate self governing colonies that decided to join Confederation. They were both create by acts of Parliament in 1905. The area between Ontario and BC became part of Canada in 1870...

Did anyone else notice that the guy second from the left in the front row looks like he's were a Canadian Flag patch on his upper right arm? Obviously he's not a Canadian (not wearing a RCN uniform), so just wondering what flag that is on his uniform?

It seems the Canadian VC will never be awarded for similar actions in WW1 and 2. It is held to a higher standard. Why? May lie in the fact that we only have a finite amount of official VC bronze to make them. I would say maybe we should consider changing the top military award for valour to...

FFS! Great, now we've made it practically impossible to get rid of the "Trudeau Crown", the one Justin surprised the King with and forced him to sign into being official. Tutor crown, not Trudeau crown.

Strange to see Scout badges going back on sleeves. In my day (back in the stone age), badges had to be put on a sash.

I agree with you on Peter MacKay.

The PCs should've stuck with Erin O'Toole. They were too quick to dump him.

You're forgetting about the one child policy they had for many decades, that significantly reduced the population.

We need to build a border wall (and ask if any of the border states want to be on our side of the wall before we build it). ;)
