11 June 2026 - Toronto Police Officer killed in raid linked to U.S. consulate shooting

Another one nabbed & charged: "... Sheldon Tracy-Stewart, 18, accused of firing a gun at the consulate and committing a violent attack on the official premises of an internationally protected person ..."
Third suspect still at large as of this post.

Been that way for about a decade on the rez. All the crime orgs use the youngest offenders they can because they don’t do time.

As conversation piece, I hope it doesn’t turn out that there was some pressure on ETF to deal with it that day- generally, for known violents with no known immediate public safety concern, they would use a tactic where they are covert in the neighbourhood and take the suspects down outside of the building when they went to go mobile- they would then do the entry on the building with a more mitigated threat assessment. Safer for the occupants of the building, the police, and the suspects.

There are a few reasons why you would do it a different way- but this would have been option A in planning for this type of building. They may have moved on from that conversation for some reason we aren’t going to know- but that would be the first route. I, and so has everyone else, have done things differently so it’s no shot at the great team in Toronto. It’s just some trivia when you look at this or incidents like it. Normal NTOA recommendation that you see everywhere kinda deal. no secrets there it’s right in the NTOA TROs

My concern would be some political pressure to resolve this embassy thread and that having primacy over good planning. I doubt we ll ever be given that info but it raises an eyebrow knowing the history of this building and the US demands to resolve that shooting. (It also could be they had A great other plan.)

Or maybe it was something else 🤷‍♀️
