125th Anniversary Parade: Ottawa, 7 Jun 08

Reminder: The Royal Canadian Dragoons and The Royal Canadian Regiment will parade on Parliament Hill on Saturday, 7 Jun 08.

The event will start with a vehicle and weapon display at 0900 Hrs. The parade, proper, will take place at at 0945 wen the two guards march on to the Hill.

I hope to see a good big crowd of Army.ca people there.

There will be a reception for participants and members of The RCD and RCR regimental families after the parade - not open to all, I think.

Dress:

1. Military personnel - DEU 1A;
2. Civilians - business attire; and
3. Members of The RCR Association - blazer and regimental tie, medals optional.

There are other social events in the evening: a regimental ball for the Dragoons and a meet and greet at the War Museum for The RCR.

It was a great day for both the Dragoons and The RCR.

Saturday morning in Ottawa was a bright, sunny and very hot!

The drill was excellent, very much up to the high standards both regiments set for themselves.

After the parade the soldiers and the regimental families and friends retired for some food and drink and then there were regimental social events in the evening.
