The 2008 National Paramedic Competition is being held at the University of Ontario/Durham College campus in Oshawa, Ontario on April 5Th 2008.
We have worked very hard over the years to develop this event. It's nonprofit and at the end of the day we donate money to the Starlight Starbright foundation. Over $13,000 so far.
Paramedics of all levels compete in a one day challenge. All aspects are tested in a mix of Scenarios and other tests.
Teams of two compete and bring along 2 other persons who act as judges in other categories to keep things fair and peer reviewed.
2008 looks like it's going to be a great year with the Ministry of Health and UOIT on board and partners such as Durham Regional Police and many others.
Interest is tremendous!
That said the Competition is open to Med-Techs and Sar-Techs. We have had Med-Techs compete in the past (Reserve unit) and expect that again this year.
This is a great opportunity to learn and work together, and the Competition is really a lot of fun.
For the Recruiters in the group we have always offered free space to you and this year is no exception. UOIT will be a busy venue for spectators especially with the residence on campus.
The goal here is to increase the abilities of Canadian Medics, learn from each other and have a great time at the Awards gala!.... ;D
