I just watched Apocalypto, the Mel Gibson movie about the Mayans. I did a project on them in Ancient Civilization class this week. I came across a wierd piece of info. They predicted that civilization will be ravaged by great fires, major earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and the end of man kind. All this is to happen on December 21 2012.

It might be prudent to locate a nice, deep, safe cave in a remote uninhabited location to hide out in just in case, though. They might be a bit off in their date, so occupying said cave a few months, or even better, a few years early may be a good idea too.

In my opinion, it could go either way.  Personally I prefer the (positive) social movement... instead of the death to all life nuclear annihilation.... 
actually...  Do any of you really think it could escalate to that point within the next 4 years, either of those two options?  Surely anything is possible, but at the current rate of things, I predict the end of the world will not happen for another 100 years
