2025 U.S. - Venezuela conflict

We"re drifting off topic but the major difference is when you quit tobacco you can still find joy in things, unlike a lot of the hard drugs.
Always needing to find "that" feeling that they experienced ONE time.

I hear this pursuit is proving even more addictive for your age group... be careful out there ;)

A different screenshot showed a couple EA-18 were back and forth just offshore during that demonstration- all of them squawking, so this was intended to be seen.

I would bet a bunch of F-35s were also up ready to do angry plane shit had things gone hinky.

While not in their territorial airspace per se, it’s well inside Venezuela’s ADIZ. By this account, America shouldn’t have an issue with Chinese fighters flying 13 miles offshore from Bangor…
They don’t have a problem with spy balloons hanging overhead the continental US for a couple of weeks. A couple of jets over the ocean is easy peezy.😉

When even your robots think you're a war criminal.

An artificial intelligence chatbot unveiled by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Tuesday appears to have described airstrikes against suspected drug smugglers at sea as “unambiguously illegal.” The platform, powered by Google Gemini, has been made available to military personnel as part of the Pentagon’s effort to adopt AI.

In a video posted to X, Hegseth said the platform, known as GenAI.mil, puts “the world’s most powerful frontier AI models into the hands of every American warrior.”

“At the click of a button, AI models on GenAI can be utilized to conduct deep research, format documents and even analyze video or imagery at unprecedented speed,” Hegseth said. “We will continue to aggressively field the world’s best technology to make our fighting force more lethal than ever before, and all of it is American-made." . . .

And of course they are tracking individual use of the chatbot and who asks what question, for future use.

The U.S. has seized an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela. Not clear which ship, where precisely, or the legal grounds.

Possibly this vessel? It tried several times to dock in Venezuela. I am also starting to see that the one that was seized was sanctioned. This was also only a little while after Russia started to import fuel due to the effect of Ukrainian strikes.

Not sure. But it is, of course, probably the girthiest, veiniest tanker ever seized, probably in history, ever. Or something like that.

Now the US is acting like a pirate gang maybe?
