An outstanding evening, held tonight at the Hazelemere Golf & Country Club in Surrey, BC, in which thousands of dollars were raised in support of the Equitas Societies efforts in having the New Veterans Charter shite canned. Speakers included Major Mark Campbell, Col. Pat Stogran, who belted out 3 electric guitar solo's (very well done!), Mr. Don Sorochan QC, and many other distiguished speakers. If you are in receipt of a disability award under the New Veterans Charter, the Equitas Society is fighting for you. Go to their website at www.equitassociety.ca and donate what you can. They are fighting for you (and me) to have the New Veterans Charter put where it belongs, in the scrap bin. The writ in the BC Supreme Court was filed October 31, 2012 to establish this as a class action suit. Mr. Don Sorochan QC of the law firm Miller Thomson LLP has agreed to take this case on pro bono, but we need to raise one hundred thousand dollars to cover disbursements. I implore you to do what you can (ie MONEY) to make this happen. We were successful in the SISIP battle, and this is no different. This fight is going to be expensive, and we all need to pitch in. Lets make it happen.
