48th highlanders

"The original affiliated unit with the 48th"

Tell me more, I have never heared of the 142nd. I was of the opinion that the St. Andrews College Cadet Corps was the original Cadet Unit affiliated with the 48th. During WWII The Toronto Rotary Highlanders (1645) were co sponsereed by the Rotary Club of Toronto and the 48th with a lot of the instructors being ex 48th NCOs.

Pte Nomercy, when were we awarded the key to the city? I know in 2001 in we were re-granted Freedom of the City, which is the highest honour a municipality can grant an Military unit. Thanks Art I will check it out.

Wasn‘t it saddam hussain who got the key to a city some where in the states? He donated some money to some kind of cause and they built a school.

I am sure your going to met lots of 48th HIGHRS this summer, and prob are going to realize more or less the type of trained soldiers that are in the unit. I am talking about 48th instructers on your course. I enjoy going on exercises and parade with these guys. as long as your not a knob you should really enjoy your experience here.
