Unfortunately the US establishment and institutions have been telling so many lies and doing underhanded things for years that now a huge portion of the voting American public just doesn't believe anything that is said about Trump. Nobody knows what is true and what is political bullshit anymore. And not trusting 'government' is baked into the American DNA.

The establishment made their bed and now they are going to lay in it. I'm not the problem here, nor are the vast swaths of Americans supporting Trump. The problem is the establishment, and they ought ask themselves why millions of voters are still supporting the boogey man when according to you and the establishment he is Hitler incarnate - though before entering politics he was just another wealthy American celebrity.

The best thing America can do right now is just let the electorate determine the outcome and let the chips fall where they may. If Trump is so terrible in office, he will be slowed by the courts or impeached by his own. Something's not clear. Did Trump personally receive the money for no obvious reason, or was this money paid to Trump's businesses for manifestly obvious functions of those businesses? If the latter, were they paid suspiciously above usual rates?

If there were a sniff of illegality, why isn't it one of the front-page court cases? (If there are court cases about it, they are pretty low profile.)

Trump won almost 56%, exit polls suggest that just under half (47% to 49%) of the voters were registered Republicans (some of whom probably did not vote for Trump), and he was not crushed just now. Obviously he was attractive to that voter mix.

No conclusions about the total mix and intentions of voters motivated enough to vote in the election but not motivated enough to vote in a primary can easily be forecasted.
