I doubt that, they get to read the letters before posting them.  No doubt in my mind that they intentially post letters that are line with the CBC's way of thinking, and only put up the requisite one or two letters that don't jive with CBC policy just to give the illusion that they are "un-biased" or "slanted" in their views.

If terrorists made a major attack in Canada, obviously the seemingly slack approach by the government and public would change in a big hurry, and it would make it much more difficult for would be terrorists to gain entry to canada in the first place.

But it isnt Canada where they want to be; its the united states, and Canada is their best window in, and best place to plan and stage attacks from.
I doubt they would want to jeopardize that unless they had to.

You never state a distinction in your wish of a "wakeup" call. From what you wrote, a wakeup call IS a terror attack.

Excellent video.  The CO of 3/1 is a good friend of mine.  We had him and a cross-section of his battalion's leadership (officers and NCOs) up to Edmonton in March for the PPCLI Leadership Symposium, where they used this video to open their presentation.  Excellent stories.  They were the main effort for much of the clearing of Fallujah.  Our guys learned much from them, especially over a few beers.
