Hello, I am a 16 year old boy from British Columbia and my dad was a private tank driver from Ormocto during the early 1990's.   He has been talking to me about what I want to do when I have finished school and he mentioned to me that the Canadian Army has this program where they pay for university for someone, and when they are finished they go into the army for the same ammount of time they where in university.   Like if I went into university for four year, then I would have to serve for four years.   Once you are in the army, your job is to do what you learned in school so that way when you are finished you also have work experience.

Now I was wondering if this program actually exsists because I would be very interested in doing it.   If it does how would I find more information about it?

Some of the things I would like to know, if this program exsists is if, the CA pays for the university, do they apay for tuition and books, or your food or shelter, things like that.   Also, since I am really into computers and I want to be some sort of programmer for a career, would I be able to get in, as an officer with this program?

Thank you in advanced.

That is the ROTP program, and it is for officers.  I'm sure you can find more in the Recruiting FAQ.
