Hello all, reader for sometime and first time posting, I'll get too it.

In the last couple years I have been going through a myriad of courses revolving around career choices, and one consistency throughout all that time is my respect and admiration towards the RCAF Pilots. I'm currently in 10th grade and what was really hoping for is some general advice on what would look good specifically on an application. I already know to talk to my local recruiter ('Local' being Vancouver island, bit of a distance from Chilliwack) and I was hoping for more personal experience, things that you wish you had had more of prior to your application.

I've been trying to drive myself to get my grades up from the B-A range to the straight A range, and I actually got slotted into my school's Chem honors courses, which is exiting. A little bit of volunteering at my local SPCA shelter is also in progress.

I appreciate any tips I could get from you fine folks, thanks-a-plenty.

-You need your advanced maths first of all, so make sure you take them.

-For pilots, I'd advise being in the A to A+ range for your marks yes, that's a nice average.

-Community service is very pertinent, especially for someone who doesn't have a lot of job experience. Then again, job experience helps as well.

-Athletics.

-Make sure you're a generally well rounded person, and that you're at ease during interviews. The interview is the most weighty, in terms of points, part of the application process. All that implies thinking about the reasons (the REAL reasons) why you want to join the CF. Make sure you're ready to make this commitment, especially since I assume you're going to ROTP, which is a minimum 9 years commitment for an English Canadian student (4 years degree + 5 Years minimum service). It's a big commitment for someone who is in 10th grade.

-If you're taking any kind of illegal narcotics (like pot), stop immediately.

-Make sure you're fit, start a work out routine.

Apart from that, go to your recruiter, get information on the ROTP program, which is available both from RMC's website and forces.ca .
