Age to join reserve

Considering I had guys on my basic training who were in their early 50s, you''re certainly not too old. However, the majority of new recruits are younger than 20, so be prepared to be one of the oldest guys on your courses.

I am now 34 and hoping to gain entry to BOTP (I think that is the correct acronym) in September, Borden permitting.   Everyone I have asked has told me to go for it and that I am not too old.   So don't worry.  Just apply - the process takes a while.

I'll 2nd the opinion.  Just turned 34 last week and starting IAP/BOTP in mid-September.  It's mostly mental.  Go for it!

This is great news.

Since I just turned 36 and I'm wanting to join the reserves I don't feel so bad hearing about the other "old timers" that are joining.

Mind you I'll prob' be ready to retire by the time my paperwork goes through.;D

Any special tips / advice / stories for us "Old timers"?
