It is quite evident that where ever there is poverty and even a small contingent of Muslims, radicalism comes about. This country has been suffering too long with incompetent government so really they have only themselves to blame. There have been a couple documentaries which basically state that not every member in these Islamic groups are so radical, it is just that the Taliban, Hezbollah, Hamas, Al Shabab are the only groups to turn to.

I would suggest that radicalism can come about even when poverty and/or incompetent government is not a factor.
 
It's a shame those arseholes have made headway into this country.  I love the place but they have enough on their plate without adding this too.  Won't stop me wanting to go back to visit as often as I can in future though.
 
No, sadly there will always be some losers who feel that it is the way of the  future for any number of beliefs out there.  We have them here too, Khadrs, Toronto 18 et al.
