Hey guys. It’s nice to be here. I applied online for Infantry within the Army. It is something I’ve always wanted to do since I was young (now 28) and I understand there is a process of recruitment that may take some time. I have my high school and some post secondary training and zero criminal history. The only thing I’m worried about is my credit which I believe isn’t the best (about 4000 on my visa from a couple years back) and I recently returned from living in the UK for almost two years. How would these two hinder my application ?

Thanks so much for any feedback.

For credit information check out these answers: https://navy.ca/forums/threads/13319.0.html

As for the living abroad, the recruiting Center told me that the background check takes much longer and looking at this thread other people have had the same experience. https://army.ca/forums/threads/13064.6425.html

I lived in Germany until I was 10 years old (I'm 22 now, so it was 12 years ago). Since then I have been back to Germany roughly 1 to 2 times a year. The background check took a while longer, but in the end they just cared about me being honest and disclosing every single time I was in Germany. Ended up having to ask for an extra sheet of paper because the one they provide only allows you to put like 6 entries for time spent out of the country (And I have around 20). I have my second interview coming up in a few days so I'm assuming that so far my time outside of Canada has not changed my application too much.
