Hello all,
After a two year fumbling process (during which old forms were replaced with new ones and other bureaucratic shenanigans) I have managed
to finish up the selection process and as of April 13, 2007 have been merit listed for my choices of Armour Office and Infantry Officer. Huzzah and my humble appreciation to the recruiters for persevering in helping me out, since I have worked in the government myself and know what havoc changes in documentation and process can cause.
During the interview it was mentioned (as a search of this message board confirmed) that boards met at regular intervals to dole out available positions to merit listed candidates. Well, OK then.
I called today to confirm how often the boards met so that I might have a vague idea of what times of the month I might be contacted on (I am occasionally on business trips and currently live overseas)and was told that at this time the Infantry and Armoured Officer boards were not actually meeting. The presumed reason(this is my own assumption and not based on precise wording from my file manager) behind this was that both were currently in demand and were being recruited by another process (faster?! the recruiter used the word "real-time" in conjunction with mentioning the process). The recruiter (who was my file manager) at that point had no further information to give. So at this point I ask my question: is there anyone who knows by what process, or the way things are currently working? Since (apparently) there are no boards meeting, she couldn't answer how often jobs were being processed. Is there someone in the know that could shed some light on the subject? I am curious and others might be as well.
Thanks for your (presumed) help!
