Hi all, A quick question about the min education requirements.
I want to join the reserves but I have not finished (or even come close) to finishing my highschool, However I have passed the mature student testing to get into a college, So if Im in college...does that hold enough water for the education level??
Thanks, Happy Monday! :cdn:

You haven't stated what level you have actually finished, so we cannot tell you.  However, a quick call to a recruiter at the CFRC nearest you would answer your question the quickest way possible.

For any NCM trade, you need to be completed minimum of Grade 10, its right there on the "requirements" page of the recruiting website.

Some NCM traded require grade 12 minimum, though the ones I know if, the OP does not need to worry about.

The OP is looking at joining the Reserves.  Reserves are geared towards recruiting while the members are still in High School, to facilitate a period of retention.  The age requirements are as per the Recruiting Site, and found in numerous posts on this site.

RDJP, Thanks, I actually did call the RC this morning in Toronto, She told me she didnt know and to call the RC...(thats not a joke)....

The RC told you to call the RC? I assume that no one picked up, and you were then talking to the switchboard operator.

Next best thing is go down and visit the unit you are interested in on Wednesday night and see if anyone is around who can give you some information.  I am assuming that you have more than just questions on education.

Picked up on the second ring- I was a little thrown off, I said is'nt this the RC? she replied Yes it is. anyways....that was the end of that phone call.lol. Hopfully find out tomorrow. Thanks for the help.
Eric out.

The educational requirements are a sine qua non of joining a trade. If you do not have a minimum of 15 high school credits (by which the CF judges grade 10 as complete), expect to be told to come back when you do. That assumes you're going for a Gr 10 trade and not a Gr 12 trade.

You could also check with the college.  If you have passed what is required to be a "mature student", there might be the possibility that they have granted you "back credits" for certain high school courses.
