I know the ARRT program was announced on this board earlier this year and was supposed to be effective starting in June '04.  The "news" section on the Army's website has an article from Sept. 7 announcing this new program; does anyone know when it really went into effect?

It seems from talking to people on here that this program has not been implemented yet, as many of the people who had their medicals sent off in June still haven't heard back yet.

Anyone know anything more?

From what I've read here and on the official Army site, you apply to the reserves as normal and do all the testing and interviews at the CFRC as per normal procedure.  However, once you've passed all that and your medical is sent to Borden, the CFRC contacts the reserve unit and you are processed in and begin training.  If Borden finds anyting with your medical, they will deal with the situation on a case by case basis.

I am not in the CF yet, so please do not take this as gospel.  Anyone in the CF who knos about the ARRT, please feel free to elaborate or correct me!

BDTyre, when I read the original post ny NMPeters, it seemed to me that this would only apply to people with no outstanding medical issues, and clearing the medical is merely a formality, which would not be the case for you and me.  :'(

Wow, you know that sounds very similar to something the medical person told me when I passed all of my tests. He said he was recommending me to a   program for which I start training before my medical file is approved, and if there was anything found out in my medical history that was a danger when it finally went up for review/approval, I could be pulled right out of the course. He kept saying that over and over, I think to make sure I understood that it was possible to be taken out of the course. However, he never told me the name of the program, so that's why I didn't actually see it right away.

However, that was a month ago and I still haven't heard anything back yet, so I'm guessing I didn't get accepted for it or something. Would be nice if I got called up early   :P

PS: Just wanted to put in here, the medical guy said he was going to recommend me because he didn't see anything on my medical history that he thought would really be a problem at all. I haven't had any major injuries in about 7 years so I'm pretty lucky. Just thought I'd put this here if anyone was curious how it happened.

I mentioned this to someone at the unit I am applying to, and he pointed out that it is, to the best of his knowledge, it is not retroactive.

On another tangent, does anyone know when the fall training would begin for the CScots?
