Arrests at anti-Israel/Anti-NATO protest in Montreal

Would Trudeau, based on his history/testimony, listen, comprehend, remember this briefing? Did anyone interrupt his dancing with a bunch of teenage girls, while there was a "disturbance" in Montreal? We don't know, but you would think that someone would think it important enough to shout in his ear.

Trudeau is being mocked on US, UK and Australian TV news that I have seen in the past days.
Not the image I want for Canada.

You can try to be reasonable all you want. Trudeau will still be an embarrassment.

I’m good with being reasonable. I can’t see myself voting for him, but I’m not gonna voluntarily subscribe to being dumb on everything about the guy. I wouldn’t expect a ‘moment of’ reaction from any PM in the circumstances. I wouldn’t have an issue with any PM taking some time go to to an event with their kid.

By the next day, the facts were in, and he issued a condemnation. That’s generally gonna be timely enough for me on such things.

Wouldn't "sedition" be serious enough criminality, along with supporting, perhaps even raising funds for, a terrorist organization?
Sedition is 14 years, so yes- if it can be demonstrated that someone has seriously taught, advocated, or published the advocation of the use of unlawful force to achieve governmental change in Canada. That’s obviously a very high bar. I don’t believe it’s ever been charged in modernity.

Terrorist financing? Certainly, if you can prove the elements of the offense. Like most things in criminal law you’d need to be able to hit that with considerable specificity and solid evidence.

What level would a disturbance need to get to for the PM to no-crap need to know immediately? If he were at a high-level conference instead of a Taylor Swift concert, would this have been flagged to his attention and he leave the conference?

Maybe this is at a level where, like the navy does, it wasn’t a “FLASH” message but a “Priority” message. So it’s important, but not “pull the PM out of whatever right now” important.

Dither and mouth platitudes in word salad phrases after the fact.
The last few times he was slammed for speaking too soon. I’d be gun shy at that point too.

Why does the PM have to react in realtime to a mild riot in Montreal? I mean, those are regular occurrences there, no? It didn’t look like anything the local po-po couldn’t handle if they were on the ball.

The actual ‘riot’ part was very brief. Notice the clips of that are all from the same very small area and the same small chunk of the crowd. And yeah, that’s not super unusual in Montreal. Palais de Congres gets stuff chucked at its windows semi-regularly.

I don't care that the PM didnt comment on the Montreal disturbance. That's a municipal or provincial problem.

But watching the video of him at the concert is very cringe and creepy.
