I just thought I'd share this little tidbit of revisionist history with everyone here

I was killing time in this forum Flames of War, it a WWII miniature war game that I'm looking at getting into. Anyway I came across this thread on Canadian participation in the war.

The posts you have to read are those by Warboon and the responses. It initially started here,
http://fow.flamesofwar.com/viewtopic.php?t=19237&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30

but the site admin split the threads and the real fun is now here.

I don't know what's funnier, his total lack of knowledge on the subject or his adamant refusal to do a search for the information he's seeking (hmm maybe he posts here as a nintendosniper).

The responses by the others are also hilarious (and the inspiration for the title of this thread.) He, Warboon, lists his interests as "war" and "history" obviously interest in this case does not mean "knowledge of."

You'll have to read all the apges of both thread to really appreciate this. Warning do not read if drinking a beverage unless you like spewing liquid onto your keyboard.

If anyone want's me I'll be out in the back repairing my armoured kayak.

Hint to Army.ca members - don't be that guy....

Seems to me that I remember seeing an ORBAT somewhere that showed the Exploding Recce Beavers as part of the R22eR Pioneer Platoons.

yes but only in 1st Bn in the 1970-1980s it was a 4CMBG thing.

There goes another Secret!
We have been trying to perfect this for years. ::)

I think this has to be one of the best quotes I've seen yet, and from an American at that:

So you want unnecessary loss of life!?!  Canada doesn't have to attack another country to get 'recognition'. The world does think of Canada as a country. You don't have to be like the US; you don't have to play 'popular kid' and get world recognition. Canada is Canada. They live peacefully and happily. They don't poke into other country's business', they don't play world police; they just are.
