Background Performers WANTED

I was down at Fort York just Wednesday for my old Cadet Corps change of command parade. They were filming a movie outside the armouries. Lots of fire trucks and firemen costumes. Not sure the movie is about or what its called.

I remember they filmed Residence Evil 2 at Fort York armouries too. It was the bridge scene when the Nemisis appears and shoots them up and blows up the police car. I missed the pyro, but apparently it was an awesome sight.

I wonder if that was one of the scenes of the movie about 9/11 that is being filmed in Toronto.

Is this company only in Vancouver, or do they have 'branches' in other cities where filming is being done?

DC5 is only in Vancouver and it was started by a former US Army 'Ranger' and an RCR MCpl. I have heard through the grapevine that they have gone their seperate ways but that the company is still doing relatively well. They found a niche and sought a means to fill it.

As mentioned above, it can be a painful experience. I for one was in the industry for years, full union member etc. It is a big personality test. Rub someone the wrong way, you don't work. Kiss too much ass, you can't look yourself in the mirror in the morning when you shave. Its a tough call.

I left the industry, except for once in awhile when I will do some stunt work here and there, but I left the 'Background' performing long behind me. Extra money is cool, but many people fall into the trap of thinking they'll be the next big actor. Promises promises promises by people you meet, but almost 99% failure to deliver.

there is a former GGHG SGt  who is working as stunt man in the Toronto area, you see his name pop up in the credits every now and then.  he siad it was hard work and paid well when working.  so there is a company in toronto who hires but i do not know the details. maybe some one here would not the SGt  i am talking about and can get detail from him.
