hey guys.
I start basic on the 26 of september... I think i'm well prepared for the running and endurance. But my question is,
I have bad vision. I won't need glasses for evrything. probably just the shooting.. Is this bad for infantry? should i bring glasses or contacts. I really need to know guys, because i think  glasses are going to be abit uncomfertable.

I also start my BMQ on the 26th. Are you going to st jean or Borden ?>
I'm not to sure what the army does, but I think you should bring your own glasses.

If you require anything to correct your vision, bring it. Both items.
Now give your head a shake. Do you drive a vehicle without your glasses? Would you do anything that may jeopardize your or another's life? That is what you intend to do by leaving your glasses behind.

If your glasses are uncomfortable, get a pair that are comfortable. Don't worry about how they look so much, and don't get an expensive pair, as you could end up destroying them.  Get something comfortable, not too expensive, and durable, and use them for training/in the field.

As far as contacts go, I've been reccomended against wearing them while training for a variety of reasons (be it how long they take to put on compared to glasses, the likelyhood of losing one on a field exercise., etc.).

If you are going Reg force I don't recommend getting a new pair of glasses before basic as everyone on my course who wore glasses got new glasses the first week when went to the MIR the first week (For our shots, blood test and eye test). I believe it was paid for by the medical plan.
