Son of B.C. MP moons audience at his university convocation ceremony

Fri Oct 2, 7:44 PM

By The Canadian Press

KAMLOOPS - A B.C. Conservative MP is dealing with an embarrassing family matter after her 22-year-old son mooned the crowd at his university convocation ceremony.

It happened Thursday when James McLeod lifted his gown to bare his bum after getting a degree at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops.

Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo MP Cathy McLeod says she was horrified to hear what happened and is dealing with this as a mom, not an MP.

She says her son told her it was a spur of the moment decision and he did not mean any disrespect.

The university says this kind of thing has never happened before.

Go mom go. She 'heard' about the incident because she wasn't being a mom and attending her son's university graduation in the first place.

And BZ to the kid. Not enough good ol' clean humor these days. In Victoria this week, we had two incidences of what kids consider to be a good prank, when two separate bomb threats were made in local schools.

The "kid" is a 22 year old man. I don't think child psychology can be used as an excuse because mommy had to go to work to pay for his education.

“It wasn't a quick up and down [with the pants]. He stood there shakin' it for 10 seconds,” said a spectator who asked not to be identified.

Proof that being conservative means you can still have a sense of humour. I bet there was a bet involved.

It'll probably be posted on his Facebook page.......Then again what will any future employer think when they look at it?    >:D

The paper reports it's a School of Nursing.

Could be worthwhile if he wants to be a nurse for a proctologist!
