I was particularly struck by his comment on "Confederation being renewed in the worksites of the oilsands" (paraphrase). The act of bringing large numbers of Canadians together with common interests and sharing common goals is indeed a great driver of cultural change happening outside of the political arena. This large number of Canadians may do far more to bring about the "Big Shift" in Eastern and Central Canada than any amount of machinization by the CPC, and because they are operating outside of the political, economic and cultural environment of the "Laurentian Consensus", they will be mostly immune to the chattering class or the various programs of the other political parties as well.
The idea that *we* have nothing to apologize for is also refreshing, and I hope that, more than anything else, gets into the mainstream of Canada and powers how we think and act.
