Anyone else getting the feeling that the US is on its path to actually reaching a point where they will have enacted exactly what "The Purge" movies are about?

A few weeks ago I was leaving Gateau late at night and noticed a gang of guys waiting on the side of the road. They waited until my light turned green and I turned the corner then slowly meandered across the road, looked like they were trying to get me to slow down. 

It reminded me of the videos you see of the protests and shit in the US where people surround cars. I'm surprised more drivers don't punch the gas and plow through them considering how violent those crowds seem to get. 

I'm curious if Americans of all races will get fed up with those violent rioters and start taking matters into their own hands.

Usually, in situations like these, the riots are happening in neighbourhoods on 'the wrong side of the tracks' anyways, so no one really cares - except the police and local community groups of course. 'Informal' rioters don't have the stamina for real long term insurgencies of course and, after the sleep it off the next morning, generally go back to do whatever it was they were doing before the chaos broke out.

The real trick is for the police to identify the hard core element and remove them from the mix, through surveillance and arrest, before they can establish longer term conditions for a general insurgency. And this could never happen in the US, of course, because in comparison with other s@itholes in the world, things are generally pretty good, despite what the 'grief whores' might whine about publicly, and it's tough to establish the deep, long term dissatisfaction that feeds more general collapses in civil order elsewhere.

Some students at Western University thought they would be clever and Co-opted the Black Lives Matter slogan and put Western Lives Matter on some shirts and a banner.
Free speech right?

They're now being investigated by the school to see whether they violated the university’s student code of conduct.  The Campus Community Police and London Police are also investigating the matter.  Seems like an economical use of the London Police's time.
