Hey guys, got a question for anybody that did their BMQ in the fall. Cause I'm hoping to be in by October. Anyways, do we end up doing our SQ during the winter, or would we do the MOC and 404(driver training) then go and do the SQ training. Cause it would be kinda hard to do the SQ field EX during the winter, and I thought that we can't do it anyways until we have the winter doc or something like that. Anyways if anybody could clear that up for me that would be great. Thanks in advance. :salute:

Unless they have changed this SQ is not offered as a weekend course, only the full time deal, also you would do your SQ before your MOC QL3 training.   BTW, what trade are you going for?

Awhile ago a weekend SQ course was running in my area. Also, you can do your SQ course after your QL3 course.

I know that now they are offering the BIQ for us infanteers over the fall as a weekend course.  I think thats a first so i wouldn't be suprised if they start doing others as weekend courses for ease of students.

Since I am obviously in error, I apologize for giving the misinformation in the first place.  I was not aware of the changes to the programs.

Thanks for the info guys, but this is for the regforce that I'm applying to. So I don't think that they would be doing the SQ as a weekend course. But I could be wrong. Anyways I do home that I do my SQ after my QL3 so that I don't have to do the SQ during the winter. Cause that would really suck. Well thanks again, and if anybody knows any more info please let me know! Thanks! :salute:

FX, the various schools do run REgular Force SQ and MOC training at all times of the year. Depending on the trade and particular school's schedule, you could find yourself with a winter indoctrination course added as part of the introductory field training so you can survive the elements.

As you can see, we have a bit of problem in that people answer a question quickly from their own experience, without pondering for a second if the question is in reference to Reserve or Regular Force training. To be fair, many people asking those questions do not know enough yet to add that detail, and because they are only sonsidering one Component themselves. For your future inquiries, it will reduce some of the noise if you specify your requirement for answers based on Regular Force training.

Reserve Force training course are normelly run on weekends through the year Sept to May, or in full time schedules (Mon - Fri) during summer training.

Regular Force courses are run full-time throughout the year, though some training establishments run very few Regular Force courses in the summer months because their staff and resources are committed to supporting Reserve training while those soldiers are available.
