I am sure this has been discussed before, but I did a search on the forums and did not find anything about this part of training, not even in the FAQ.

On the recruiting web site it say that Basic training is 10-weeks and is done in St-Jean, Qc. Does this 10-week include BMQ and SQ, or is it only BMQ and SQ is done separatly ? If it is done separetaly how long is SQ and where is it usually given, in St-Jean like for BMQ ?

Between BMQ, SQ and MOC, is there usually a long wait time, where you perform misc duties ? IF there is how long can I expect to need to finish all this preliminary training, 1 year?

P.S. I am looking for Reg Force Infantry (031) and Signal Operator (215) info more specificaly.

BMQ and SQ can be ran as 2 seperate courses though usually in the summer (as I have been told) they usually merge them into one long course
As far as I know BMQ and SQ are about 4-5 weeks each

what you‘re talking about is reserve BMQ and SQ, which is 20 training days long each.

He‘s asking about Reg courses. From what I know, BMQ itself is 10 weeks long at St-Jean. I believe SQ is done elsewhere. And that‘s all I know. (sorry) I guess we‘ll wait for someone more informed to answer. :)

BMQ is indeed 10 weeks long; they say in St. Jean, P.Q. but not always. There is a chance that they could send you to B.C.
As far as I know from the recruiting office, SQ is another 10 weeks for Reg force before you actually go off to do your MOC.
