BMQ starts soon eh?

I recently applied for the army (ASHofC P.L.) and I was told that I may not make it to training this summer because the cut of date is fast approaching and there are already many people ahead of me in the process (which makes sense).
When I was in the interview the Capt. that interviewed me said he was impressed with my knowledge of the forces (as I spent a lot of time researching the Cdn forces and the unit I wanted to join) so he said he's put a recommendation into my recruiting file so I can hopefully go away this summer.

I was just wondering if there is anything I can do to help get me to my BMQ this July. If there is anything I should or could do to help me with this process I would greatly appreciate any advise or help I can get.

(To be fair, I guess I can only really blame the recruiting process for about a year of that time, I was a bit slow getting everything together to beggin with.)
