Hello...first I apologize if this has already been asked, but I couldn't find anything anywhere. If it has can someone please point me in the right direction.

I sign my papers tomorrow, and start basic training mid January. My basic is in Borden, not Quebec. Everything I have read about basic has been in regards to Quebec.

Has anyone done Basic in Borden? I'm just looking for some insider tips on things to bring, or what have you to make life a little easier. Also has anyone failed the p.t. test in that's done in the first week....do you get moved off the course to the helper course (I can't remember what it's called), or do you train to build up for the week 6 full test? I can't seem to make the shuttle run timing for the life of me. Feels like it takes me 59 seconds to get off the floor, let alone complete the whole thing in 59 seconds!

This whole process went alot faster than I anticipated. I thought I'd have more time to get my butt in gear...and learn how to do pushups...always feels like my elbows are going to snap🤦‍♀️

First, congratulations! Welcome to the CAF!

Second, the CAF is working hard to reconstitute, so some BMQ courses are now being run in Borden. Depending on which trade you are entering, it's possible that your first trade course will also be in Borden.

Finally, for fitness, work on building your strength and endurance. There are exercise professionals who will support you once you are at Borden.
