Britain's Territorial Army infiltrated by Al-Qaeda

Gee, I wonder which unit that was?!?!?!

I don't pretend to know unequivocally whether or not those two CO's were guilty, but it seemed to get brushed under the rug pretty quickly.

Too bad though, they had it comin'.

Not always. I personally know three COs (one Res, three RegF) who have been removed from comd in the last couple of years for misbehaviour of one sort or another. We're getting better. Cheers.

I find that somewhat alarming....

I find it about right(with one exception I won't discuss). There are a few more I can think of who have escaped. I am not advocating wholesale slaughter or witch hunting, but we cannot be seen to discipline soldiers, then let officers (esp senior officers) go free as we egregiously did in the "Good Old Days". Cheers.

Well said. Those in charge ( Commisioned and/or Snr NCOs) must be seen to be held to the same high standard (or higher) of everyone else.

Sorry, what I find alarming is that four Officers who are obviously unprofessional goofs could make it through to command units.  I'd thought that by the LtCol rank they'd have winnowed away the chaff.

Fallibility is a weakness of any evaluation and promotion system that uses humans, and I wouldn't want any part of one that didn't. Cheers.

What's the old adage?

Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutley? ::)
