B.C. Government (Conservative Majority), 2026-(NLT)2031

Pretty early, but it’s a huge BCCP lead so far. 64 to 25 for NDP and 2 for the Greens.

Wow, at least Trudeau had the sense to step down and not drag the Liberals to the bottom with him.

Eby could have took some inspiration.

I think they'll be lucky to get 30 seats.

Up until a couple days before the election call, Eby and his advisors probably had a good theory of the case if they were running against KLF and a significantly split free-enterprise vote.

But they waited too long.

It’s not over yet. Watch the Surrey ridings.

Eby's desire to campaign against Trump, and then after that didn't work, to lecture people about how evil conservatives are, apparently wasn't enough to overcome a mood for change and a bit of disgruntlement over an unnecessary election. The attempt to wrongfoot the opposition failed; Chretien, Eby is not.

Eby is now conceding. I guess the only question is how big the Conservative majority is.

Conceded and resigned as BCNDP leader.

As of right now, the vote split does not appear to be an issue in Surrey, except for possibly Surrey Centre, if the BCCP lose their slim lead there. So far, possibly an issue in a couple Vancouver and Vancouver Island ridings.

But those ridings won’t affect much in terms of majority or minority.

Conceded and resigned as BCNDP leader.

I would have been shocked if he didn’t resign.

Neither Centre BC nor OneBC came even close to winning a seat. Dallas Brodie was run out of Vancouver Quilchena on a rail.

Kootenay Central and Kelowna are also very close and could be lost due to vote splitting. Again, no effect on the majority.

‘I accept full responsibility’: Eby resigns as B.C. NDP leader

David Eby stepped down as the leader of the B.C. NDP Saturday, after voters delivered a resounding rebuke of his snap election call.

“This is obviously something I do with a very heavy heart. But it is time for new leadership within our party,” Eby said.

In a somber concession speech, Eby said he wished premier-designate Lorne Doerkson his best—and that he meant that “sincerely.”

Eby’s remarks came after the B.C. Conservatives swept to a decisive majority, relegating the New Democrats to Opposition status for the first time in nearly a decade.

“This is obviously not the result that any of us wanted. A number of my colleagues, some of the hardest working MLAs I know for their communities, were not elected tonight. It breaks my heart, and I accept full responsibility for that outcome,” Eby said.
