Are any of you from around the calgary area and have recently put in an application to the military?

Yup, submitted last month and (just) finished up the tests today, albeit the fitness deal.

Yeah, just did my aptitude test last Tuesday, and I‘m scheduled to finish the rest of my testing by the end of the month (minus the physical that is)

Well it‘s good to know there are some people on here that are also going through the process and live near by. I wrote my aptitude test on Feb.24th and I have my medical on March. 17th and the interview, April 5th. I thought I‘d mention that usually in Calgary basic training(reserves) is sceduled for April, but I just found out that they started it last week(moved it up a month) So if you were counted on getting in for April basic training, its impossible. I called so many times to see if there was an earlier opening for my interview so I could get in by April, but I guess the effort was a waste seeing as they upped the date, LOL. So, do you guys know where and when the next basic training will be?

I figured basic would be in Quebec in the summer sometime. Unless, of course, you‘re talking about reserves - then I‘ve not a clue.

I‘d keep calling to see if there‘s any earlier possibilities for tests, you never know, eh? Somethings bound to open up.

EDIT: Guess you were talking about reserves, eh? Missing out on the April basic ain‘t too bad; weather is crap that time of year anyway. summer/fall would be perfection.

I haven‘t seen anything definitive but historically, there are full-time Reserve BMQ courses, in Alberta, run in the summer. So I wouldn‘t give up hope yet.

I am in Calgary I am sceduled to do the tests first week of april, hopefully ill see you guys on course.

I am also in Calgary, did aptitude test, and waiting for interview and medical.

Anyone else applying for DEO?

DEO training begins in September from what i understand? I really hope I get everything squared away by then.

I applied for the Military Police, what does DEO stand for? Any of you guys know how long after the interview you can call for the physical test? Cpl. Matheson downtown said I couldn‘t call for my physical until my interview is done. I was wondering if that takes days or weeks to book. This weds I do my medical, I‘ll write how it goes and what they do/ask so those of you who are soon to do it will have an idea before you go. If any of you already did it, maybe post what to expect.

I think you book the physical with Fitness on 5th. I think they are contracted to do the physical for the CFRC.

From what they‘ve told me downtown, the fitness test is the very last thing you do (actually, it was said to only do it if they give an offer of employment).

I‘m ROTP by the way; I‘m not sure how it differs for DEO or reserves.

What university are you at Trey? I‘m at the University of Ottawa.

I‘m 2nd year at the University of Calgary. When I applied for ROTP, one condition I had was to stay here (rather than ship off to RMC). Probably knocked me down the list.
