I‘ve successfully completed the CFAT and qualified for everything, I passed the physical and mental easily. I finished the interview about three weeks ago, and he told me I "passed" it. Now my file is in borden and I am waiting.

My question is.
Should I call my local recruiter, should I call the place where I initially went to meet with one of the Captains of the regiment I was applying for, or should I just wait for them to call me?
Thanks in advance

it never hurts to call your local Recruiter to find out where everthing stands, Also depending where u are from if your Recuitment office is only an office and not a main Recruitment place. Call the main office rather then the place that justtakes your application.

for example in my case, I went through Barrie, But i call Toronto for any info i need.

Looking though the threads I couldn‘t find a great place to put this post, but I guess this will do.

I just spoke to the CFRC about my medical file taking so long to come back from Borden, its been 8 weeks now.

I was told that "to keep quality control on the medical files, they only have 3 people working in that department. And (he) believe(s) that only one person is working there right now."

I don‘t know what to make of it considering there is people claiming to have had their entire process completed in about the same amount of time that my med file has been sitting in Borden.

I do understand that they are probably swamped with files if they are working at 33% of their normal processing capacity, and that things will move slowly, but why though are some files being cleared in a mere couple of weeks?

Do some files get fast tracked or something?

Has anyone else had to wait this long for a med file to clear through Borden?

Files are all different. The number and nature of docs that you had to provide will of course determine how long your file will take. Someone with no neeeded docs is considered a clean file and will be processed in about 4 weeks. A couple of different letters will also add to the time you have to wait. Lastly, there are different program in the CF with different start dates and in alot of cases your priority may drop dueto 250 PRes files for summer training with a cut-off date of 1 Apr, or Reg Force selection boards that are taking place, the files must be completed for those.

Bottom line, they will only fast-track files that have definitive cut-off dates. Medics will not querry on your behalf as it is not allowed. That would be more time that the three people would spend not working on files, but answering querries.

Lastly, there are some changes that maybe coming on line in the near(3-6mos) future to alleviate some of these delays, but certainly not all.

Ya I thought it might have something to do with pushing the Pres files ahead for summer courses, but I just wanted to check and make sure.

Thanks for the reply.

I called my local RC and the officer told me that there is only one doctor who is analyzing each medical file.

Hey Graham, I‘m in the same boat as you man, just call them every couple of weeks and look at it as even more time to raise the bar on your physical fitness. Find the positive side to waiting, the time goes by faster.
