I was told by someone...I think different...that you can purchase ammo legaly from stores with military ID. Is this correct? And if not whawt steps does a person go through to get a firearms license.
Thanks anyone

Take firearms safety course or challenge fire arms safety exam. Fill out paperwork send it in.

No....

Are you kidding me? I don't trust some people in
the military with weapons still.  Thank GOD they
have Sgt's for supervision.

You need a Possession and Acquisition Licence  (PAL)
which is the old FAC

I'd shudder to think if you could buy wpns and ammo
simply with military ID....

Not only do you require a PAL to purchase and own rifles and ammo, but most military weapons or those that have any resemblance to military weapons, fall under the "bad gun" list(prohibited). These weapons cannot be owned,imported\exported,or used unless you owed set weapons before a certain cut-off time (grandfathered).
Some types or military weapons can be owned(AR family)as well as some pistols. These fall under the restricted category. In order to get restricted status, you need to do a additional test above your PAL.
check out the Canadian Firearms center's website for more info.
