Can you clear this up for me

Hi,
  Can someone please tell me whether you have to live in the base you are posted at. If so do you have to pay rent, or do they provide you with all needs of living such as food, washing machines,etc. Will you ever see your family or only on leave days can you see them, and if you live in your base does your family live there to..  If not then do you have to buy a house thats near the base, and go home at like 10.00pm, and go to work at like 6.00am.
  Anyone who can clear this up for me would help me.

Frankie, how did you make that logical connection between food and washing machines. I just snorted out beer. Christ, I thought you were banned under alll your other names? Search for this stuff kid, it's already been done.

Its because Dylan_infantry is my friend and he was accused of having the multiple accounts not me first of all,also we both want to be in infantry.. He contacted mike the head of the site and got it all sorted out Mike gave him the list of the names mike thought was all his Dylan's.  Wow close names theres alot of people with close names does that mean there all the same people NO, so don't try and act like you know everything because obviously you DONT

In general (and it does vary according to what you're doing, e.g. if you're on a course or not) you don't have to live on base once your initial training is done.  If you do live on base, you pay a certain amount for rations and quarters (food and rent).  If you're away from home on a course you generally stay in barracks and eat in the dining hall free.  In any case, the washing machines are free.

Most people in the Forces, especially those with a few years in, don't live in barracks.  They live in houses or apartments, usually near the base.  At the end of the day it's home to your family, and back the next morning.
