Canadian Airborne School/units

Dear Sir/Madam:

I realize that the Canadian Army disbanded the Canadian Airborne Regiment. Is there still a Canadian Airborne School or any Canadian Army units still on jump status? If so is there any possibility of joint training or exercises?

The Canadian Parachute Centre is located in Trenton On. The Jump capability resides in a company in each of the three Light Infantry Battalions.

I know there are still SUEs/RUEs/PfP ongoing between Canada and the US, however, I‘m not sure if there is any specific training or Exercises conducted between the two countries jump forces.

I believe there are also Reserve Units that still have jump taskings. The Queen‘s Own Rifles in
Toronto, Ontario, the Loyal Edmonton Regiment in Edmonton, Alberta, and I believe one of the
Vandoo affiliated Regiments in Quebec.

I‘m quite certain there would be significant interest in a joint ex. You seem to have a lot of
aircraft down there.

All para designations were withdrawn from Res F units in the mid 90s. The QOR obtained a jump role when CPC transferred to Trenton APS 1995. A point of caution, as the jump companies are NOT Airborne troops, it‘s more of a delivery method then fighting style.

Oops, I‘m not just old, I‘m out of date. Now that you mention it, I do remember those things
happening. It‘s too bad really.
