Dear Sir/ Madame,

I have recently applied for the Canadian Army, and was told to provide a Canadian equivalency certificate as I got my degree from outside of Canada.
However, there are number of choices and I am not sure on which one to apply for.
Since the price is rather expensive, I would much appreciate it if you could tell me if the $115 WES Basic one (stating only degree status with no GPA ) (http://www.wes.org/ca/application/sample.asp?show=docdoc) would be good enough to process my application (pilot officer). If not, could you please indicate which exact one would do?
Please see below:

Thanks!
Any help is appreciated!

As shown at the website ( http://www.forces.ca/en/page/applynow-100#education ) - If you attended and graduated high-school, college or university in another country, you may need to have your education evaluated by the Alliance of Credential Evaluation Services of Canada to determine if it is equivalent to the education provided in Canada. The Forces will not pay for the cost of the evaluation.  http://canalliance.org/index.en.stm

A Credential Evaluation provided by any one of the member organizations listed at this site are acceptable.  Be sure to select the appropriate type of evaluation that can be used for "employment" purposes by the CAF.  WES is a member of CANALLIANCE and are acceptable.  http://www.wes.org/ca/jobSeekers/

Good Evening Sir/Madam,

I have a pretty specific question that may not be easy to answer. I am a Canadian citizen, but here's where the problem lies. I lived in Germany for 90% of my life. I have only Grade 11 in Canada and then I went back to Germany for apprenticeships. I did my apprenticeship for Automotive Technician there and then decided to come back here. To come back here I had to take an equivalency test saying that I do, in fact, know how to repair vehicles. I've been employed ever since in Canada as a Red Seal Journeyman Technician. The reason this is relevant, is this going to be any type of equivalent education for Air Force recruitment, specifically Pilot. They accepted the equivalency for the technician certificate, which in Canada is 4 years of education combined with on the job training at N.A.I.T (university).

That's fine if I have to brush up on my physics and Mathematics (calculus and vectors, advanced functions) I just want to see if there will be any equivalency whatsoever, or if I pretty much have to do grade 12 over again and have (on paper) what looks like, NO education at all.

Thank you for any help.

If you are interested in applying for an Officer Occupation, you will need to already have or be able to obtain a Post Secondary Education (ie; Undergrad Degree) from a Canadian University or recognized in Canada.

See this thread which discusses education/academic credentials obtained outside Canada ---->  http://army.ca/forums/threads/123788.0.html

I would NOT recommend obtaining an Academic Credential Assessment until such a time as your local Recruiting Detachment tells you it is a necessary requirement.

As you have mentioned that you took up residence outside of Canada, there is also the possibility that you will be subject to a Pre-Security Clearance Assessment which if needed, will be done at the beginning of your processing.
