No. Canada has no equivalent to the Marines. You should also realize that
the "Marines" are not a single trade. Every marine is qualified to perform
duties as a rifleman dismounted infantry soldier and then goes on to take
training for one or more specific types of duties. Probably every type of
employment in the Canadian Army is represented by a specific Marine MOS
Military Occupation Specialty. So, wanting to be like a "Marine" doesn‘t
necessarily specify a particular type of employment as a soldier. You may
be thinking of the Infantry.
Before you go to the Recruiting Centre you may want to do a bit of research
so that you know what kinds of opportunities exist for you in the Canadian
Army.
The official army web site can be found at: http://www.army.dnd.ca/
It is still being expanded and may not easily provise a lot of detail.
I would rcommend you spend a bit of time browsing the information sections
of the Unofficial Canadian Army Hoime Page: http://army.cipherlogic.on.ca/
Try checking out the following pages under the "Information" menu choice:
Recruiting, Combat Arms, Weapons. Also explore the various Canadian links
for specific units or topics that interest you.
