Canadian peacekeepers leaving Golan

Good. Finally. We need to cut back on "backwater" missions like this and save our resources for other things. This was one of the last "old style" peacekeeping missions.

Cheers.

About bloody time we left ...

Couldn't agree more...

I don't think we have any "contingents" (as opposed to UNMOs) working for the UN now - a fine situation in my books.

god i am all for "peacekeeping" but babysitting a country for 30 years is just stupid
i think it was about time for them to leave years ago .. if they leave and hell breaks lose well then nothing they could have done would have stoped that .. comeon like the soldiers on the lines were probably not even born when the PK mission start lol ( i mean Israel's and Syrian troops i mean )

The last of the "fun 'n' sun" tours gets downsized (it ain't gone yet). Yes, it's about time. Lots of money saved in salaries and tax breaks there, plus we'll be able to finally use those CSS pys for jobs that are really needed. Now we just need to pry the siggies out of Camp Faouar.

+ 1 to that.  One way to get rid of the annoying "peacekeeper" tag is to get out of these "bloodsuckers" - these are heavy CS/CSS tours and we need those specialists to back us up in the two-way ranges....
