They also have a smallish Montreal smoked meat sandwich, which no doubt tastes great.

“Montreal smoked meat is similar to pastrami or corned beef...”

Except better! ;D

If ever in Montreal, go here!  Their smoked meat is amazing!  Added bonus for the late-60’s style linoleum table tops with the sparkly embedded Jetsons designs.

Just a point of nomenclature. We don't have "Canadian Smoked Meat" here. It's either "Montreal Smoked Meat" or "Montreal Style Smoked Meat" or just plain "Smoked Meat" which has its origins in the Jewish community of the city of Montreal in Quebec.

Here's a wiki link on it:

The show had just mentioned the smoked meat as coming from Canada. No other area of Canada does smoked meat just Montreal ?

Montreal smoked meat.

Montreal bagels.

Nowhere else worth mentioning for either.

Some other areas claim to ...But forgive them, for they know not what they do.  ;)

It's like the "Great-Bagel-Debate", really. People in New-York still cling to the illusion that they know how to make Bagels when everyone else knows that there are only "Montreal Bagels" and then everything else.  ;D

Once all this crazy virus stuff is over and you're in Montreal looking for a great smoked meat sandwich, try this place, you won't be disappointed.

If you have a big enough fridge, a smoker, and a lot of time, which many of us do right now. Buy your self a chunk of brisket, cure it for atleast 3 days, smoke for 24 hours, and oh boy are you going to be in heaven. Best sandwich meat in my opinion.

Only 3 days?

Most people dont have the space for the usually 7 to 10 days to make it, you can get results in 3 for the cure, especially if you cut the meat into smaller blocks

If you think keeping space in your fridge for healthy foods like fruits and vegetables is more important than smoke meat... well, that's a lifestyle choice you'll have to live with.

You can always freeze the fruit and saves room.  ;D
