And I always thought it was another country....

Which country has the greatest per capita energy consumption?
a)United States
b)Canada
c)France
d)Japan
e)Germany

Answer: (b) Canada
Canada's consumption is equivalent to 74 barrels of oil per capita, yearly. That's 125% more than Japan, France, Germany and 15% more than the US.

Guess you can't believe everything you're taught...must be all the idling cars in the winter    :p

We use more oil because its so cold in Canada. It's aleast 5 miles (20km) to the nearest trading post to drop off my beaver pelts eh.

LOL. It is cold up here in the winter, Damn cold.

But something tells me that Baker isn't THAT gullible, despite hailing from the states.

and  Baker, I also would like to know the source.

I can't provide a hard source, but that is a common statistic that is thrown around in my classes (I take a lot of environmental science courses).

its also the factor that everyone likes their gadgets up here...and they all use electricity

...and the cars in the US don't take much energy on blocks in the front yard. :D

Would someone point out to the good Major that getting facts from Smiling Jack Laytons election site is probably not a good idea. ;D

I was in Ft Nelson BC for a month and a half this winter and the only times I shut my truck off were when I had it inside, other than that it ran 24/7. TAKE THAT OZONE LAYER

I heard these facts from somewhere else a while ago, so it has to be somewhat legit.
